The Ferrari 125 S is the most important car in Ferrari’s history—it is the very first car to wear the Ferrari badge.

- Production: Only 2 units were ever made.
- Engine: Powered by a tiny 1.5-liter V12 designed by Gioacchino Colombo. It produced 118 horsepower and could reach a top speed of around 130 mph (210 km/h).
- Weight: Super lightweight at just 1,433 lbs (650 kg).
- Racing Record: Debuted at the Piacenza Circuit in May 1947, where it famously retired due to a fuel pump issue—Enzo Ferrari called it a “promising failure.” Just two weeks later, it won its first race at the Rome Grand Prix. It went on to win 6 of its 14 races that year.
Neither original car survived intact (both were dismantled and their parts reused for successor models), but Ferrari built an exact factory replica in 1987, which sits in the Ferrari Museum today.
